My gardens are simple, modern spaces that are thought provoking and timeless. I have spent most of my life looking at spaces and thinking how I could make them better.
My work has centred on garden design and nothing gives me greater pleasure than to take a neglected patch of ground and turn it into a thriving, green place that people want to be in.
It is important to me to improve the soil and not pollute it with chemicals.
I like to reflect the architecture of adjoining buildings to the site by using sympathetic materials to link them to the garden yet in a surprising way.
I try to achieve a balance between structure and informality and give interest throughout the seasons in the planting design.
No garden stands still and I look forward to imagine the spaces in the future and think of the design ageing beautifully.
